Celebrating Black Beauty in Fashion: Breakout Black Models from the Paris Fashion Week SS 22 Shows

Here at Jurnfern Art, our mission is to celebrate Black beauty and talent in the fashion industry. Each of our illustrations is inspired by a Black individual making a name for themselves in fashion. Therefore, in the spirit of celebrating, as part of our Paris Fashion Week coverage we are highlighting 5 breakout Black models from the Spring 2022 runways. Keep reading to learn more about these Black beauties!

Christine Munezero

Christine Munezero began her runway career last year, but walked a momentous season at Paris Fashion Week this Fall. Munezero had the career-making opportunity of opening for the Valentino Spring 2022 show! This moment will definitely spearhead her future to new heights.

Maria Sosa

Maria Sosa made her runway debut this Fall at Paris Fashion Week, walking for two major clients - Dior and Giambattista Valli. These shows are sure to put Sosa's face on the map, and we expect to see lots more of her soon!

Shantae Leslie

Shantae Leslie made her runway debut this season in Milan, and continued to do amazing walks for major clients in Paris including Loewe and Valentino. We are excited to see what the future holds for Leslie's career!

Jennifer Girukwishaka

Jennifer Girukwishaka made her international runway debut this season at Paris Fashion Week, with her first show for Loewe. She has such a strong and striking runway presence, this definitely will not be the last we see of her.

Ashanti Biong

Ashanti Biong had previously walked for Valentino Couture, but she made her RTW debut this season at Paris Fashion Week. She walked her several major clients including Miu Miu, Valentino RTW, and the AZ Factory. Biong's performance this season will be sure to land her lots of future work in upcoming RTW seasons!
