Celebrating Black Talent in Fashion: Our Favorite Black Designer Collections At London Fashion Week

Here at Jurnfern Art our mission is to highlight and celebrate Black beauty and talent in the fashion industry. As part of our fashion week coverage this season, we put together a list of three amazingly talented Black fashion designers who put on noteworthy presentations of their Spring 2022 collections at London Fashion Week last month. Check them out below!

Duro Olowu

The mesmerizing prints in Duro Olowu's Spring 2022 collection took cues from surrealist art and jazz music. The patterns, color palette, and silhouettes were happy and full of life. This collection has pieces that can easily go between a professional meeting and a walk in the park. And, with coordinating coats in the beautiful swirly flower print, these pieces can move with you through the seasons. See the full collection here

Maximilian Davis

Maximilian Davis' Spring 2022 collection was inspired by his childhood family trips to Trinidad, and what meaning the sea has in the lives of Caribbean people-things such as 'nostalgia, and freedom.' The collection was full of pieces that were simple yet striking. There was beautiful tailoring, great evening looks, and more extreme pieces like the finale look inspired by Carnival, pictured above in the middle. See the full collection here

Nicholas Daley

For his Spring 2022 collection, Nicholas Daley explored quilting and patchwork as well as sustainable handmade knitwear. The collection was full of casual men's daywear like like tie-dye hoodies, relaxed trousers, and knit berets. It was an overall beautiful and eclectic mix of prints and textures.
